Some may know, some may not but I'm renovating a house - a house for ME! I've lived in my current / cookie-cutter garden home for about nine years now and I've always dreamt of a mid-century ranch that was done up like a Pinterest board. Here's my chance to show off my interior design skills. BTW, so much harder to select finishes and make decisions when it comes to your own home. Yikes! I got the very talented and wonderful Diana Ascarrunz to take the before photos of the house. Built in 1957 - 3 bedroom | 2 bath, it was originally 1223 square feet and after the renovation will be around 1830. Below I've added some of the before photos and the SketchUp drawings I've doodled up of what the final product will look like - Enjoy!
I'll be sure to update y'all on the renovation progress along the way in my Instagram stories as well as on the blog. Keep an eye out!
Living Room - Teeny tiny. Could fit an apartment sized sofa + TV and that's about it.
Kitchen - Just on the other side of that living room wall. Speaks for itself.
Another view of Kitchen + Dining area + Living Room - That huge picture window was a big selling point!
Hallway leading down to all the bedrooms + Guest Bath - I like the charm of a long hallway, houses don't really have these anymore.
Front Guest Bedroom - This is the largest guest room in the house. There is a smaller middle bedroom that looks like a square shoebox, no need showing it here, it's pretty boring.
Guest Bathroom - The infamous turquoise sink. It's staying but getting a face lift! Hopefully, I can pull off mixing old + new here!
Master Bedroom - Not huge but fits a good size bed. Not much room for a dresser in front of bed, I'll have to come up with a clever storage solution in here.
Master Bath - Sad thing is, my childhood bedroom was painted these two exact colors. Ew.
And last but not least, the Backyard! - I'm hoping to win dog-mom of the century award with this bad boy.
Here are my drawings of the addition to the living room, dining room, kitchen & laundry room!
