Right before the holidays I finished an exciting Spruce Kit for a sweet client, and thought it would be fun to share the design with y'all! I'm calling this living and dining room transformation the "Eclectic Marfa Retreat," based on the bold mix of colors and natural finishes!

One of the first things my client mentioned to me when we sat down to chat was how much she loved color. She was also inspired to incorporate collections from her travels and to create an overall cozy feeling to her open-plan living space.

My ultimate goal with any Spruce is to have the design feel like a reflection of my client and their personal style, so for this project I came up with a strategy for incorporating bold colors without the room feeling overwhelming or disjointed. By striking a balance of colors with warm neutrals and textures, from the casegoods to juxtaposed leather ottomans, I was able to create the Marfa, Texas vibe my client was craving.

A special request was also made to find a rug that would serve as a focal piece, while still tying in her collection of eclectic goods and tchotchkes. This plush Moroccan shag rug from Gilt ended up being one of my favorite pieces from this Spruce. It has a neutral background that makes the colorful, modern design pop against the client's existing dark wood floors.

The client also requested a minor revision to her design (a one-time service included in the price of every Spruce). This incorporated an additional expandable dining table that would seat six and a neutral rug underneath. Don't you just love those mid-century inspired chairs?!
